Dora and Morris Katcher, Gloversville, NY

At the turn of the 20th Century, my great-grandparents Morris and Dora Katcher were glove-makers in Gloversville, New York. Over 100 years later, I’ve returned to my roots, employing the last expert glove-maker in Gloversville who is celebrated for his unparalleled skill by designers like McQueen and Duckie Brown, and now Brave GentleMan. Each glove is made by hand, and hand-stitched using tools all made in Gloversville dating back to the early 1800's. Gloves are not made like this anymore, with design features like sidewalls and a palm vent. I’ve combined the past with the future by using soft, recycled Japanese future-suede that is durable, supple, warm, and weather-resistant. The gloves were recently featured on Knowwear alongside recent CFDA winner Public School, G.H. Bass, Sidian, Ersatz & Vanes, and Maison Kitsuné.

Perfect for the holiday season, these gloves are available in very limited colors and sizes for $300. Please see a few of them modeled below by model and vegan Dennis Klaffert (who is also wearing the Brave GentleMan "Black Sheep" future-wool fedora, "Executive" balmoral shoe, and "Watchdog" double-breasted jacket).

Men's gloves come in a few sizes, and the best way to determine your size is by measuring the circumference of your hand just below the fingers in inches. Size correlates directly to measurement. For example, if you measured 8.5 inches, your size is 8.5. Easy! If you are interested in reserving a pair of these gloves, please email Brave GentleMan directly.
